Joseph Spencer giving a talkJoseph M. Spencer (PhD, University of New Mexico) is the President of the Book of Mormon Studies Association. He is associate professor of ancient scripture at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT (USA) and a former editor of the Journal of Book of Mormon Studies. The associate director of the Latter-day Saint Theology Seminar, Spencer is the author of seven books, most recently A Word in Season: Isaiah’s Reception in the Book of Mormon (University of Illinois Press), and of many articles and book chapters.

 

 


Kimberly Matheson

 

Kimberly Matheson (PhD, Loyola University Chicago) is the Vice President over finances for the Book of Mormon Studies Association. She is the Laura F. Willes Research Fellow at the Neal A. Maxwell Institute at BYU. Matheson has published articles with the Journal of Book of Mormon Studies and currently serves on the board of the Latter-day Saint Theology Seminar.

 

 


Liz Fenton

 

Liz Fenton (PhD, Rice University) is the Vice President over communications for the Book of Mormon Studies Association. She is Professor of English at the University of Vermont and the author of Old Canaan in a New World: Native Americans and the Lost Tribes of Israel (NYU Press). She is also the co-editor, with Jared Hickman, of Americanist Approaches to The Book of Mormon (Oxford University Press).
